The Bungoma National Polytechnic (TBNP) traces its origins to 1924, when the late Paramount Chief Mzee Sudi Namachanja donated approximately 610 acres of land for the establishment of a livestock vaccination and treatment centre. In 1927, the facility evolved into a Livestock Improvement Centre, playing a significant role in agricultural development in Western Kenya. As the demand for technical skills grew, the institution was transformed into a technical training centre and, in 1993, officially became a public educational institution under the Ministry of Education. Over the years, it has expanded its academic programmes, modernized its facilities, and strengthened industry partnerships, eventually earning elevation to the status of The Bungoma National Polytechnic. Today, TBNP is a premier TVET institution offering Levels 4, 5, 6 and 7 programmes across diverse disciplines, guided by its motto, "Technology Our Lifeline," and committed to providing quality technical and vocational education, innovation, research, and community service for sustainable national development.
